Information on the Captivation, Torture and Investigation of a Military Prisoner From Qalqilya at al-Zarqa Military Prison
Handwritten in Arabic and found in the Collection of Sari Nusseibeh, this archival item is a collection of information to one of the military prisoners from the city of Qalqilya who has been brought to al-Zarqa Military Prison in 1963; whereas he speaks of the investigation process which took place in a bizarre situation full of torture that continued for 20 days, on day 21 of which he fainted and therefore, brought a physician to examine him while the investigation resumed until 25 August 1963 and he was kept in dungeon No.32 at the northern part of the prison and after two days he was transferred to solitary confinement. Later, he complained about this to the Director of the Prison "Ahmad Bey al-Haj Salim" and was brought to the Central Military Hospital for a few days and then back to the investigation to meet with the defendant "Nimer Awinat" and he was the only one to confess of the crime charged against them in addition to the continuation of what is left from the investigation details which lasted for 165 days in the dungeon, names of defendants and the participation of "Mahmmoud al-Ashwah", "Abed El-Karim Omar and "Miflah al-Quddah" as the Investigators.
