Minutes of a Court Session, 13 August 1975

Handwritten in Arabic and found in the archive of Sari Nusseibeh, originally for his father Anwar Nusseibeh, this archival item documents minutes of a court session held on 13 August 1957; whereas it included the testimony of lieutenant “Badi Awwad” from the 3rd brigade; where he spent 10 years among the army and he is from the tribe of “Bani Sakher” which is part of the “Khdeir” family.  He testified that he is part of Princess Alia’s Army which is part of the 3rd brigade led by lieutenant “Maen Abu Nowarah”, and its main 1st leader “Muhammad Ali Ameen”, then, he mentioned details of an order issued during Thabit’s night maneuver in 11 April, and the details of the coup in 13 April; whereas, in their section, they gave the order while feeling suspicious about the maneuver because it was carried out during a bizarre timing and place; where the situation of the country isn’t collaborating with the idea of bringing out units of security manoeuvres inside due to the protests implemented by political parties and strange because of its eastern-based location which is a desert-like and is 200 km away from the main lines.  This is the point where they started to feel suspicious and continued with the narration of the details to such manoeuvres and other meetings held between him and lieutenant “Abdullah Sayel” based on the request of the other.
