Contract of Tenancy between Abdulfattah Ibraik and Jamil al-Zitawi, Nablus, 1964

Printed in 1964, this document shows a contract of tenancy between Abdulfattah Salim Ibraik and Jamil al-Zitawi from Nablus. The contract details; with Rashid Ibraik and Jamil Mustafa as witnesses, the conditions of tenancy, be it that it includes a house with its facilities for the amount of two Jordanian dinars and five hundred fils to be paid at the end of each month for a full year starting from 1 Muharram 1384 and ending on 30 Dhul-Hijjah, corresponding to 12 May 1964 and 12 May 1965. Other conditions included that at the end of the lease term, the tenant is obliged to hand over the key to the landlord, and if he is late, he shall pay for each day a double rent until the premise is vacated and handed over back to the landlord- the tenant is not entitled to change the premise without the written permission of the landlord and is not allowed to lease the leased premise to another without obtaining the permission and consent of the landlord in writing.
