Ottoman Tax Bond for Othman and Farid Ibraik, 1898
Issued in 1316 AH 1898 AD by the Ottoman Property Tax Division, this one-page document shows an Ottoman tax band for Othman Ibraik and Farid Salim Ibraik stating the tax each paid for a property they owned in Nablus; where Othman paid 27 piasters while Farid paid 29. The bond also states that it includes a deduction taken as a subsidy for the support of education and that the value of the tax is collected in the Ottoman piaster and Para. The back of the bond shows a statement; in the form of a decree (firman), explaining the tax collection act and the consequences of its violation.
