Abdelfattah Ibraik's Archaeological Construction Permit, 23 August 1965
Issued by the Department of Antiquities of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on 23 August 1965, this archival document shows a permit for Abdelfattah Ibraik from Nablus to build a house in an archaeological site in the Northern Mountain of the City. The permit states that Ibraik paid the due fees, which amounted to one Jordanian dinar on 16 August 1965, under conditions including that the permit is valid given that the land does not exceed one dunam, and that he is not allowed to conduct any excavations or move stones in or from any part of the archaeological site except within the area of the land in which it is intended to be built, and it states that the Department of Antiquities can appoint an employee to monitor the work, and that this employee has the authority to order the suspension of work if need be, and that Ibraik must immediately inform the Department of any artefact that may be found during construction.
