The Jerusalem British War Cemetery Gate, Jerusalem, the Late 1920s
Taken in the late 1920s, this photograph shows the gate of the Jerusalem British War Cemetery on al-Masharif Mountain in Jerusalem which holds the graves of British military soldiers who died in Palestine during World War I between 1914-1918. It also shows the Jerusalem Monument General Edmund Allenby inaugurated in 1927 and the inscription at the top of the gate which is a general description of the Cemetery.
