The Road to Afula, the 1920s
Taken in the 1920s, this photograph shows the road to Afula; an Arab village located near Nazareth, which is part of the Marj bin Amer plain and is considered a fertile land owned by the Ottoman Empire. At the end of the ninth century, its land was sold to Lebanese merchants which Zionists then bought and settled in and established the Afula colony, resulting in the Zionist population topping the Arab's, who then expelled the Arab residents in 1925 and seized the rest of the village.
