An Issue of the Palestine Newspaper, 30 May 1964

In its issue dated 15 May 1955, Palestine Newspaper for 15 fils is a daily, political, news and illustrated newspaper founded in 1911 by Issa Dawood al-Issa, while its owner was Raja Issa al-Issa, and its director was Dawood Bandali al-Issa. Its front page included two photographs of shaheed Sami al-Ansari, on the right, and shaheed Fawzi at-Taher on the left. The headline of this issue was “The Conference on the Lines of Fire”; i.e. the Palestinian National Congress, where al-Hassan, King of Jordan, met with his members during their tour on the front lines, praised the plans of transferring the Arab military position to the offensive phase, while Abderrahman Siksik, the Secretary-General of the Conference, announced the names of the nine sub-committees with a membership of 32 members, the committees are, the Political Committee and its members including Sobhi Ghosheh, Ahmed Sidqi Dajani, Abdel-Mohsen al-Qattan, Aref al-Aref and Khalil al-Wazir, the Charter Committee including Haidar Abdel-Shafi, Qadri Tuqan and Shafiq al-Hout, then the National Organization Committee including Zulaikha Al-Shihabi and Kamal Adwan and Abdel-Latif Qaddoumi, the Awareness and Education Committee including Ahmad Khalifa and Mashhour ad-Damen, the Committee for Proposals and Nominations including Ali Hassan Salama, the Finance Committee including Alfred Toubasi, the Legal Committee including Awni Dajani and Abdel-Karim al-Karmi, the Information Committee, and finally the Refugee Affairs Committee.
