Afaf Hamadneh's Embroidery Drawing, Asira ash-Shamaliya-Nablus, 1960

Found in the Afaf Abderrahman Hasan Hamadneh Collection from Asira ash-Shamaliya-Nablus and dated 1960, this archival item shows an embroidery drawing for ear patterns where Hamadneh drew the patterns on parchment paper for the designs of wedding dresses and veils, to be embroidered using a sewing machine. It is reported that she learned sewing in her early twenties in Hebron for three years.
