A Woman Baking Bread, the Nimr Murqus Collection
Found in the Nimr Murqus Collection, this photograph shows a woman next to the fire stove holding a large straw tray with bread covered with a cloth. Additionally, on the floor are loaves of bread placed on a straw tray known as a "Mankala" which is made up of straw threads that are braided to form a circular shape. As shown, reserving the area under the old stairs for the fire stove.
