Issue 10 of al-Jadeed Magazine, October 1989
The tenth issue of the al-Jadeed magazine, a monthly magazine for progressive national thought and culture established in 1951, issued in October 1989 under the supervision of its first editor Hanna Naqara and its chief editor Ibrahim Malik. It was printed at the Union Cooperative Press in Haifa and two drawings by the artist Sanjana Awad were printed on the cover of the magazine. The issue included the following: 1. The talk of the month, "I'm Going to Get Revenge," by the magazine's editorial board. 2. A word for readers titled "Al-Jadeed Welcomes a New Year and Says Goodbye to Another" by Samih Sabbagh. 3. A series of episodes titled "The Intellectual and Political Development of the Palestinian Communist Party from 1936 -1943 (Episode 1) by Marwan Mashreqi. 4. A study titled "The Dialectic of Death and Life in the Bayatian Poem (The Mask)" by Suleiman Jubran. 5. A study titled “A Study in the Poems of the Intifada: The Shock of the Stones,” by Abdel-Aziz l-Maqaleh. 6. An article titled "Literary Issues through (Jabal Sikh and Other Stories)" by Mahmoud Ghanayem. 7. A critical article titled "Poetry Grows Through Communication and Bereavement in Abdennasser Saleh's Diwan (Glory Bows Before You)" by Sobhi Shahrouri. 8. A poem titled "Maqos Muroor al-Arabaeen Ala Takhrib al-Qaryah" (The Bill of 40 Years Passing Since the Destruction of the Village) by Taha Mohammad Ali. 9. A poem titled "Enqalaba az-Zaman" (The Time Overturned) by Fahd abu Khadra. 10. A poem titled "Al-Majdo Yanhani Amamakom" (Glory Bows Before You) by Abdennaser Saleh while at Ansar Prison 3 "The Naqab". 11. A poem titled "Fi Maslak al-Qayd" (In the Path of Chains) by Waseem al-Kurdi. 12. A long story titled "The Impossible" by Nabil Odeh. 13. A story titled "Mukhtar (Dhimma and Religion) by Abdel-Latif Naser. 14. A variety of cultural news, including "news about the release of new books", "news about Palestinian theatre and art" and others.
