Issue 2 of al-Jadeed Magazine, February 1987

The second issue of the al-Jadeed magazine, a monthly magazine for progressive national thought and culture, founded in 1951 and printed at the Union Cooperative Press in Haifa, issued in February 1987 under the supervision of its first editor Hanna Nakkara and its editor-in-chief Antoine Shalahth, and a painting by the artist Irina Karkaby was printed on the cover. The issue included the following: 1. The talk of the month is titled “How to Handle Heritage” by Salim Jabran. 2. A study titled "Towards a Conference on Social Conditions and Services in the Arab World" by Samih Rizq. 3. A literary study titled “Hemingway, the Giant of the World Novel” by Sobhi Ghanyem. 4. A literary study titled "The Theater of Najib Sorour and its Intellectual Characteristics" by Fahd Saffuri. 5. An investigation titled "The Voice of Rameh, the Voice of Our People" by Nabil Azar. 6. A comprehensive interview with the novelist Tahar Ouettar by William Azzam. 7. A comparative literary study titled "The Paradox of James Joyce and Emile Habibi" by Samia Mehrez. 8. An interview with the progressive Lebanese critic Youmna al-Eid by Ziad Hasan. 9. Two poems by Salim Jabran. 10. A Bulgarian poem "When a Poet is Born" by Stefan Tsanev. 11. A story titled "The Visit" by Riad Baidas. 12. A story titled "Your Life That Remains" by Adnan Abbas. 13. "With Books", a Soviet academic study on l-Farabi written by R.S. 14. The recently published book corner by the magazine's editorial board. 15. The corner of cultural life in a month by the magazine's editorial board.
