Issue 11 and 12 of al-Jadeed Magazine, December 1985
The eleventh and twelfth issues of the al-Jadid magazine, a monthly magazine for progressive national thought and culture established in 1951, were issued in December 1985 under the supervision of its first editor Hanna Nakkara and its editor-in-chief Emil Touma. It was printed at the Union Cooperative Press in Haifa, and a painting by the artist Mohammed Saleh was printed on the cover. The two numbers included the following: 1. The talk of the month titled “Nazareth on the Path to the Front, All Our People - on the Road to Nazareth” by the magazine’s editorial board. 2. An article titled “The Two Teachers from Memories of Baghdad” by Sasson Somekh. 3. An article titled "A Discussion with Naim Araidi 's theorems" by Riad Baidas. 4. A study in folklore titled "Chants" by Zahira Sabbagh. 5. A literary study titled "Ameen Rihani and Community Issues" by Yumna al-Abed. 6. A story by Riyad Baidas entitled "One Day". 7. A story by Aziz Yassin titled "Forbidden Democracy". 8. A story by Cora Sandel called "The Child." 9. Abd al-Wahhab al-Bayati's poetry titled "Bokaayeah Ela Shams Hozairan” (Weeping to the Sun of June). 10. A poem titled "La Majal” (No Way) by Michel Haddad. 11. Poetry titled "Al-Baja al-Abyad Yarhal An Bairut” (The White Swan Leaves Beirut) by Ayman abu al-Shaar. 12. Monthly cultural follow-ups by Naji Thaher. 13. Various cultural news.
