Issue 9 of al-Jadeed Magazine, September 1984
The ninth issue of the al-Jadeed Magazine, a monthly magazine for progressive national thought and culture established in 1951 and printed at the Union Cooperative Press in Haifa, was issued in September 1984 under the supervision of its first editor Hanna Naqqara and its editor-in-chief Emile Touma. The issue included the following: 1. An article titled "An Introduction to Researching Arab Culture" by Emile Touma. 2. An article on the UNESCO Symposium on Palestinian literature by Abdel-Latif al-Labi. 3. An article titled "Palestinian Literature: Suggestions for Research and Action" by Husam al-Khatib. 4. An article titled "The Book of Contemporary Palestinian Literature" by Muhammad Banyas. 5. An article titled "The First Arab Intellectuals Conference" by Raja Elias. 6. A study titled "Abu al-Ala al-Maarri, Guilty or Innocent" by Hadi Alawi. 7. An article titled "Local Cinema between Necessity and Issues after the Founding of the New Cinema Committee" by Salman Natour. 8. An article titled "The Structure of the Cinematic Language" by Jean-Marie Peters, translated by Qais al-Zubaidi. 9. Stories titled "The Days of Our Country" by Mustafa Murrar. 10. A story titled "Race in the Shadow of War" by Amin Khair Ad-Din. 11. A story titled "Love in the Moon" by Tawfiq Muammar. 12. An article titled "Panorama of Czech Literature" by Jaroslav Hašek. 13. Poems by Ivan Skála. 14. "Mother of a Shaheed", a poem by Pablo Neruda. 15. "Children Will Never Die Anymore", text by Garvin Mamtobo Stuart. 16. A study titled "People's Heritage in Stories (Flowers for the Eyes of Hafizah)" by Ziad Shaliout. 17. News about the latest published books. 18. A poem titled "Andalusia" by Fahd abu Khadra. 19. A poem entitled "Al-Ghad, Qaydo Mawjaten Aw Adna” (Tomorrow is as Far as a Wave or Less) by Osama Halabi. 20. A poem titled "Akhero al-Kalimat” (The Last Words) by Shorouk Uruk. 21. An article titled "The Essence from the Letters of the Safa Brothers" by Ali Ashour.
