Issue 8 of al-Jadeed Magazine, August 1984
The eighth issue of the al-Jadeed Magazine, a monthly magazine for progressive national thought and culture established in 1951 and printed at the Union Cooperative Press in Haifa, was issued in August 1984 under the supervision of its first editor Hanna Naqqara and its editor-in-chief Emile Touma. The issue included the following: 1. Al-Jadeed opinion is titled "The Danger of the Kahanism Before the Danger of the Weakling". 2. An article titled "The Views of ibn Khaldun and Marxism" by Abdel-Latif Jbour. 3. An interview with the Egyptian writer Faridah Naqqash by Liana Badr. 4. An interview with the Soviet writer Viktor Astafyev. 5. A story titled "The Pursuit" by Hanna Ibrahim. 6. Short stories titled "The Days of the Country" by Mustafa Murrar. 7. A story titled "The Bread Seller and Ibn al-Khattab" by Amin Khair ad-Din. 8. A story titled "The Fall of a Friend" by Suhail Kiwan. 9. Poetry titled "Nahtefo al-An Kai La Namoot” (We Cheer Now lest We Die) by Ibrahim Nasrallah. 10. Poetry titled "Wa Takhtamero Fi Jawfi al-Asifa” (The Storm Brews in My Heart) by Osama Halabi. 11. Poems from Nicaragua by Ernesto Cardenal. 12. The article "University Organizations in Our Society" by Ziad Shaliout. 13. An article titled "The Beginning of Art among the Arabs" by Nabil Azar. 14. An article titled "Notes on the Family" by Nayef Selim. 15. A study entitled "Cheers - Ululation " by Rosa Samaan. 16. A study titled "Women in the Literature of Muhammad Abdel-Halim Abdullah" by Samir Haj.
