Issues 4 and 5 of al-Jadeed Magazine, April and May 1977

The fourth and fifth issues of the al-Jadid magazine, a monthly magazine for progressive national thought and culture established in 1951, were issued in April and May 1977 under the supervision of its first editor, Hanna Naqqara, and printed at the Union Cooperative Press in Haifa. The two issues included the following: 1. Al-Jadeed opinion is titled "The Shield of David and Begin's Sword". 2. The story "The City" by Ray Bradbury is translated by Afif Salah Salem. 3. An article titled "Words of the New Occupation" by Suhail Atallah. 4. An article titled "Andre Malraux - the Revolutionary Writer" by Antoine Shalhat. 5. An article titled "I Was Crying Alone" by Kamal Jumblatt. 6. The story "Like a Healthy Body" by Hanna Ibrahim. 7. A play titled "The Rifles of Mrs Karrar Bertolt Brecht", translated by Riyad Maasarwe. 8. A story titled "Souad" by Hussein Salem. 9. A poem titled "Yawm al-Ard” (Earth Day) by Fawzi Abdullah. 10. An article titled "Lenin, the Revolution, and the Attitude towards Intellectual Men, but from the Workers' Party", translated by Jorash Hedo. 11. Poems written by Yehuda Amichai and translated by Siham Daoud. 12. An article on the plastic exhibition of Palestinian artists by Naji Thaher. 13. Various cultural news.
