Issue 9 of al-Jadeed Magazine, August 1956
The ninth issue of the al-Jadeed magazine, a monthly magazine for progressive national thought and culture established in 1951, was issued in August 1957 under the supervision of its first editor Hanna Naqqara and printed in the Union Cooperative Press in Haifa. The issue included the following: 1. The talk of the month titled “The Embassy of the Hebrew University.” 2. An article titled "The First Attempt to Establish Arab Unity" by Emile Touma. 3. An article titled “Is History in Crisis?” Prepared by Az-Con. 4. A poem titled "Edha" (Dedication) by Habib Kahwaji. 5. An article titled "The Fugitive from Iraq" by Rushdi Saleh. 6. A story titled "The Funeral of the Good Sheikh" by Suad Darwish. 7. A poem titled "Ya Raghefi" (My Loaf) by Issam Abbasi. 8. An article titled "A Revolution in Writing Arabic" by Ibn Khaldun, "a pseudonym". 9. "Looks at Books" corner. 10. A poem titled "Sanashhado Kawkab al-Fajr" (We Will Witness the Procession of Dawn) by Hanna Ibrahim. 11. Scientific, literary and cultural news.
