Issue 5 of al-Jadeed Magazine, April 1956
The fifth issue of the al-Jadeed magazine, a monthly magazine for progressive national thought and culture established in 1951, was issued in April 1956 under the supervision of its first editor Hanna Naqqara and printed in the Union Cooperative Press in Haifa. The issue included the following: 1. The talk of the month titled “These Cultural Connections.” 2. An article titled "The Tramps" by David Samah. 3. An article titled "Looks on Hebrew Literature" by Adib al-Qass. 4. An article titled "Al-Safi al-Najafi" by Ibrahim Khayat. 5. A poem titled "Lehaola Oghani" (For These People I Sing) by Mahran as-Sayed. 6. Essay on Mexican Art. 7. A story titled "The Desire of a Wife" by Abdel-Majid Jouda as-Sahar. 8. Students' corner titled "At-Talia". 9. A poem titled "Kon Kawkaban" (Be a Planet) by Jamal Kawar. 10. An article titled "Heine" by Alexander Dich. 11. Various literary, cultural and scientific news.
