Issue 3 of al-Jadeed Magazine, January 1955
The third issue of the al-Jadeed magazine, a monthly magazine for progressive national thought and culture established in 1951, was issued in January 1955 under the supervision of its first editor Hanna Naqqara and printed in the Union Cooperative Press in Haifa. The issue included the following: 1. The talk of the month, titled “Lest we forget, women’s freedom too.” 2. An article titled "Strengthening Cultural Relations between Peoples". 3. An article titled "New Directions in Literature Among Peoples" by Emile Touma. 4. A story titled "Breach of Security" by Hanna Ibrahim. 5. A Chinese story titled "The Talking Horse". 6. A poem titled “Ahkam al-Mawt Fi Iran" (Death Provisions in Iran) by Haya Qadmon. 7. A story titled "A Tortured Soul" by Robert Bracco. 8. An article titled "Between Two Films" by Ibn Khaldun, "a pseudonym". 9. An article on the Congress of Soviet Writers. 10. The al-Jadeed mail corner. 11. Various literary, cultural and scientific news.
