Issue 2 of al-Jadeed Magazine, December 1953
The second issue of the al-Jadeed magazine, a monthly magazine for progressive national thought and culture established in 1951, was issued in December 1953 under the supervision of its first editor Hanna Naqqara and printed in the Union Cooperative Press in Haifa. The issue included the following: 1. The talk of the month, titled "Ben Gurion's Conclusion and the Comprehensive Project". 2. An article titled "A Negro's Prayer to His Family" by William Dubois. 3. An article titled "A Revolution that Will Not be Extinguished" by Emile Touma. 4. A Soviet story titled "The Radiance of the Fatherland" by Lebrecht. 5. A story from the book "One Thousand and One Nights" titled "A Dispute Among the Assassins". 6. A Turkish story titled "The Lucky Dog" by Sabah al-Din Ali. 7. An article titled "A Heroism that Underestimates Bullets." 8. An article titled "Al-Jahiz and the Avarice & The Avaricious Book". 9. Readers' Mail Corner. 10. Scientific, literary and cultural news.
