The Distribution of Food to Palestinian Refugees, September 1949
Taken by Ali Za'arur in September 1949, this photograph shows Palestinian refugees including men and children receiving food such as milk and bread, provided by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) during the implementation of the Refugee Assistance Project organised by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) before the establishment of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). Additionally, it shows a Palestinian woman pouring milk into a pot. Meanwhile, Abdel-Karim and his fellow colleague are standing near her in order to supervise the process of providing food for the refugees.
