The Distribution of Food to Palestinian Refugee Children, September 1949
Taken by Ali Za'arur in September 1949, this photograph shows Palestinian refugees children including boys and girls receiving milk provided by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) during the implementation of the Refugee Assistance Project organised by the Jerusalem Refugee Assistance Project in cooperation with the ICRC which was before the establishment of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). Additionally, this photograph shows a young man pouring milk into a pot. Meanwhile, Abdel-Karim is standing near him to supervise the process of providing food for the children.
