The Distribution of Flour to Palestinian Refugees, September 1949
Taken by Ali Za'arur in September 1949, this photograph shows Palestinian refugees receiving flour during the implementation of the Refugee Assistance Project organised by the Jerusalem Office of Refugees in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) before the establishment of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). Additionally, it shows Abdel-Karim al-Alami supervising the work of the office's staff during the process of distributing flour.
