The Distribution of Assistance to Palestinian Refugees, September 1949
Taken by Ali Za'arur in September 1949, this photograph shows Palestinian refugees including women, children and men receiving assistance during the implementation of the Refugee Assistance Project organised by the Jerusalem Office of Refugees in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) before the establishment of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in the town of al-Eizariya. It also shows the office's staff during the distribution process.
