Bassam Shakaa Practicing Standing on Prosthetic Legs in London, 1980
Taken in 1980, this photograph shows Bassam Shakaa with his wife, Enaya al-Fassed, practicing standing on his short and temporary prosthetic legs in London, in the wake of the Israeli Occupation Authorities' attempt to assassinate him, leading to the amputation of his legs on 2 June of the same year.
