Taken in 1980, this photograph shows a part of a welcoming ceremony for Bassam Shakaa, mayor of Nablus, in Nablus following his return from his trip to Amman for treatment, in the wake of the Israeli Occupation Authorities' attempt to assassinate him, leading to the amputation of his legs on 2 June of the same year.
