Bassam Shakaa's Relatives, Friends and Wife in Syria, 1961
Taken in 1961, this photograph shows some relatives and friends of the Shakaa family having a party at a cafe in Ein al-Fejeh, close to Damascus, during the family's stay in Syria as political refugees. The people appearing in the photograph are, from the right, Ghazi Kamal and his wife, Laila Kanaan; Bassam Shakaa and his wife, Enaya al-Fassed; Hanan al-Fassed; in addition to Nawal and her husband, Ghaleb.
