A Letter to Bassam Shakaa from Zuhdi Terzi, 8 September 1980
Sent on 8 September 1980, this letter was addressed to Bassam Shakaa, mayor of Nablus, from Zuhdi Terzi, Permanent Observer of the Palestine Liberation Organization to the United Nations, to inform Shakaa, who was banned from travel, that Terzi received the President Kenneth David Kaunda Prize for Humanity on behalf of him. Shakaa was awarded the prize in recognition of his role as a human rights and freedom defender and as anti-racism activist. Attached to the letter are the original invitation to receive the award along with related details.
