A Letter from the Palestinian Municipal Councils to the Israeli Army Minister, 17 May 1982
Issued on 17 May 1982, this joint letter was addressed from the municipal councils in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip to the Israeli Army Minister to denounce the Israeli Occupation Authorities' decisions disbanding al-Bireh Municipal City Council and dismissing the mayors of Ramallah, Nablus and Anabta as well as to reject the Israeli Civil Administration's plan to disband the municipal councils. The letter was signed by the municipal councils of Qalqilya, Hebron, Nablus, Ramallah, Tubas, al-Bireh, Beit Sahour, Salfit, Silwad, Deir Dibwan, Birzeit, Bani Zeid, Gaza and Bethlehem.
