El-Funoun Palestinian Popular Dance Troupe was established in 1979 with the motive of protecting the folklore of popular dance and song from loss and extinction. Since its establishment, the Troupe performed more than 1,000 performances locally and internationally, and produced 12 dance artworks, in addition to dozens of paintings. During its lifetime, it won many prizes and distinguished certificates of appreciation from local and international festivals.

El-Funoun Palestinian Popular Dance Troupe preserves the product of its years of work, and its collection includes materials that are distinct in terms of type and quantity. The collection includes costumes which the Troupe has used in performances, publications, and photographs that capture the Troupe's historical stations from the 1980s to the present day. It also includes videos and music files, as well as documents relating to the Troupe's correspondence and administrative matters.
