Asmahan Misyef was born on 4 February 1966 in the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron. She enrolled in architecture at Palestine Polytechnic University in 1987, but stopped studying in her third university year due to the policies adopted by the Israeli Occupation authorities during the First Intifada 1987, which stipulated the prohibition of all forms of organized education within all educational institutions. At the same time, Misyef married Suhail Ibreigetih and returned to her studies in 2002, majoring in social development at al-Quds Open University in Beit Jala, graduating in the summer of 2006.

The Asmahan Misyef Collection includes thirteen archival items, which portray a microcosm of the nature of economic life in the depopulated village of Deir Aban, located in the district of Jerusalem, which prevailed during the period from the 1920s to the 1950s.
The collection contains models for economic transactions and preserving rights, including receipts for paying taxes in the village of Deir Aban, such as property tax of all kinds. Some of these receipts were registered in the names of women from the village and issued by the British Mandate Authorities, in addition to a proof of undertaking to pay issued by "Hassan Misyef" to his wife and sister-in-law.
