Taken in 1999, this photograph shows the theatrical performance of Hanan ash-Sheikh's novel "Misk al-Ghazal [Women of Sand and Myrrh]". Produced by Iman ʿun and Peter Braschler and directed by Peter Braschler, and co-directed by Sami Mitwasi, this play was first performed at the Young Men's Christian Association in Jerusalem and later was performed in Norway, Palestine, and at the National Theatre in Egypt. This play was also Ashtar's last play in cooperation with Peter Braschler, of which the lighting credits go to Philip Andrew and the music credits go to ʿudeh Turjman. Actors in the play include Iman ʿun, Tahani Salim, Munira Zurayqi, and Fatin Khury.
