A Letter from Jbur Yusef Jbur to Ilyas Kusa, April 1958

Dated April 11, 1958, this printed letter in Arabic was sent from Jbur Yusef Jbur, the Mayor of Shefa-ʻAmr, to Ilyas Kusa regarding Kusa's letter to the head of the Kafr Yasif municipal council congratulating him on boycotting the celebrations of "Israel's independence." Jbur mentions that other Arab municipal councils did not boycott these celebrations. Enclosed in this letter is Jbur's letter to the Chief Editor of Ar-Rabitah Magazine where he discusses the Israeli Government's lack of support to construction and development projects in Arab towns as it claims. He explains that the Shefa-ʻAmr project was not funded by the government but rather through large loans paid off by the municipality.
