A photograph of a freeze of Ashtar for Theatre Production and Training's play, "Shaheeds are Coming Back" in 1996. Designed by Majed az-Zubaidy and directed and adapted by Sameh Hijazy from Taher Wattar's story, "ash-Shuhadaʾ yaʿudum min al-mawt hatha al-usbuʿ" (Shaheeds are Coming Back this Week), the play featured a Palestinian cast, including Edwar Moʿallem, Fady Abdulwahab, Iman Aoun, and Raʾed al-ʿEssa. This production marked the first show featuring the graduates of Ashtar drama training programme. Aoun received the Cairo International Festival for Contemporary and Experimental Theatre best actor award for her part in the play.
