A Photograph of Ashtar Theatre and ESNCM's Musical "al-Fawanees", 2004
A photograph of the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music (ESNCM) and Ashtar for Theatre Productions and Training's musical, "al-Fawanees" (The Lanterns) in 2004. Suhail Khury composed the music of the play which was adapted by Wasim al-Kurdy from Ghassan Kanafany's "The Little Lantern". Co-directed by Fernando Nope and Edwar Moʿallem, the extravaganza starred 65 children from the Israeli-occupied cities of Bethlehem, Jerusalem, and Ramallah. The musical premiered at Ramallah Cultural Palace accompanied by the Young Forum of Central Europe Orchestra.
