A Video on "'Asr al-Hitan, Produced by ASHTAR Theatre

A video clip featuring "'Asr al-Hitan" [The Age of Whales], a play, produced by ASHTAR Theatre, which raises questions on the nature of terrorism, its perspective, sources and forms through the story of five passengers, different in interests and loyalties, who aboard a shipping boat with a dealer hiding dangerous weapons on the way from a manufacturing country to a consuming one. During the trip, the weapon dealer attempts to befriend the passengers to ensure order on board. He becomes close with a journalist always looking for the truth. We meet a young man who was arrested for two years for attempting to identify the causes of humans' constant desire for destruction. Coincidentally, the young man discovers the weapons and tries to stop the dealer. The dealer and his political accomplice play games on the passengers while a composer tries to calm down the tension between them with music. The play is directed by Kevin Harris and Eman Awad and performed by Edward Muallem, Muhammad Eid, Faten Khoury, Raed al-Isa and Rami Washha, with stage lighting by Atallah Tarazy, music by Rami Washha and costumes by Majed Zubaidy.
