Diaries of Khalil Sakakini, 28 May 1941
Handwritten, this archival item documents the continuation of the diaries of Khalil Sakakini on Wednesday, 28 May 1941, which he began by mentioning visiting the cemetery and scattering flowers with his sister Milia, seeing Sultana in his dreams and reminiscing his will that urges: Not to cry over him Not to pray for him No one takes him to his grave except his family. No one offers condolences to his family for his death. No one mourns his passing. Not burying him until corruption penetrates his body. Burying him under the feet of his wife. Nothing makes it less onerous except in two ways: either by denying his existence or pretending that he hasn't died.
