A Photograph of the Chapel of the Ascension "the Dome of the Ascension" on top of the Mount of Olives in Occupied Jerusalem
Taken by Yousef Albina between the 1920s and the 1930s, this photograph shows the Chapel of the Ascension on top of the Mount of Olives in occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem). It is worth noting that it was built for the first time in the Byzantine era in the traditional place of the ascension of Christ, peace be upon him, but after Salahuddin entered the city of al-Quds (Jerusalem) and liberated it from the Romans, the church was destroyed and nothing remained of it except the columns and the dome, so he transformed it into a mosque and built a mihrab for it.
