Bilal bin Rabah Mosque in Bethlehem, a Photograph by Yousef Albina, the 1920s-30s
Taken by Yousef Albina between the 1920s and the 1930s, this photograph shows Bilal bin Rabah Mosque "Rachel's Tomb", which is located in the centre of Bethlehem City. It is worth mentioning that the Mosque was built in the Mamluk era, in the place where it is believed that Bilal bin Rabah did the Athan when he came with Caliph Omar bin al-Khattab to Jerusalem. The location is also related to Rachel, the wife of Jacob and the mother of Joseph peace be upon them.
