Diaries of Khalil Sakakini, 21 May 1940
Handwritten, this archival item documents the diaries of Khalil Sakakini on Tuesday 21 May 1940, where he mentioned going with his sister Milia to the cemetery and spreading flowers, Dr Hourani, a professor of Philosophy, Latin and History at the Arab College, and George Khmayyes visiting him in the afternoon, commenting about the Arab College's pride in being the first education institute in Palestine to teach philosophy, then he shows why they teach Latin in Europe and the United States of America, as it is the mother of their languages, the language of the church and the availability of old assets, then, he mentions the visit of Ahmad Khalifeh, Salim Hamdan, Davi and his wife to him.
