Syrian Army Reenters Southern Beirut During the War of the Camps

A magazine clipping showing news on the Syrian Army's re-entry; it'd withdrawn on 1/9/1982, to Southern Beirut in 1987 during the War of the Camps. The sole purpose of the re-entry was to strike the PLO and release hostages; fearing a foreign intervention for their release. It's said that the Soviet Union attempted to settle the situation; based on the Tripartite Accord; signed in 1985.
