A Portrait of Abu Adnan al-Kufrthani, 1981
Taken on 5 June 1981, this portrait shows Zajjal Abdullah Mohammad Maree (Abu Adnan al-Kafrthani) during his performance at a wedding. Abu Adnan was born at Kafr Dan in Jenin in 1935 and was influenced at the beginning of his artistic life by the traditional poet Assaf Taher al-Burqini, who greatly encouraged him to practice the art after hearing him perform Dahiyeh at a party.
