A Portrait of Mohammad Odeh, 1978
Taken in 1978, this photograph shows Zajjal Mohammad Hussein Saleh Odeh (Abu Adnan Shweikani) performing at a wedding. Abu Adnan was born in the village of Shuweika in Tulkarem in 1924 and started practising traditional poetry in 1942, he was the first to be influenced by the traditional poet Abdullah Abderrahman and also participated in traditional parties and national festivals in many Palestinian villages and cities, in addition to performing abroad. Odeh retired Zajal in 1999 for health reasons.
