Henriette Saksak at the Opening of the Arab Orthodox Charitable Refuge Association Building, al-Eizariya, 1964
Taken in 1964, this photograph shows Henriette Saksak, giving a speech at the inauguration of the Arab Orthodox Charitable Shelter Society building in al-Eizariya, where she spoke about the work of the Association that oversees the Charitable Shelter for the Sick and the Disabled, the Home for Paralyzed Children, Our Lady Mary’s Maternity Hospital, the Children’s Nursery, and the treatment of the desperately ill in Jerusalem, in addition to the returning girls' workshop. The photograph also shows Dawood abu Ghazaleh, Governor of Jerusalem, and Catherine Saksak, founder of the shelter.
