The Diaries of Fandi Mhanna, Buqei'a- Upper Galilee, 1973 and 1981-1983
This 143-page document shows the diaries of Fandi Mhanna from Buqei'a- Upper Galilee for 1973 and 1981-1983, where he focused on narrating details about his daily and social life, in addition to describing the weather and a Hijri calendar. In this agenda, Mhanna addressed his relationship with his family, his time spent in Buqei'a, and solving tribal disputes with Shekihs from neighbouring villages in the area, as they conduct occasional meetings to discuss different issues. He spoke about participating in many social events including his visit to the Tomb of Prophet Sabalan, where people gather to practise religious rituals. He also mentioned his visit to the Tomb of al-Khader and Prophet Shu'ayb. In his diaries, he also pointed out participating in a march that assembled the Druze, Muslims and Christians in Buqei'a, which took place after Sultan Pasha al-Atrash's death who died on Friday 26 March 1982. Mhanna also addressed the local council elections in the village. He also mentioned his direct involvement with the land, as he always weeded, planted and took care of the land. In addition to mentioning the olive picking season and pressing it via the olive oil presser "oil miller". He also recorded some of his financial accounts including his debt, taxes, grocery store accounts, olive crop production and payment of taxes in the Land Registration Department.
