Diaries of Fandi Mhanna, Buqei'a- Upper Galilee, 1996

This 393-page archival item shows the diaries of Hussein Mhanna in Buqei'a- Upper Galilee, which he wrote in an agenda dated 1996, where he focused on political and daily life, social and family visits, in addition to writing some proverbs and various phrases he quoted from philosophers. Mhanna mentioned in this agenda some political news including the murder of Yahya Ayyash, nicknamed "The Engineer" from the village of Rafat, who was hunted down for four years by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF), as well as the news of the IOF bombing North Lebanon villages by land, sea and air. He also talked about his poetry collection "Al-Hub Awwalan (Love Comes First)" and his participation in different literary evenings including the honouring of poet Hanna Ibrahim. Then, he talked about his participation in several literary and social occasions, specifically his mother's health condition followed by her death along with the names of the people who came to pay their respects and the letters he received. Mhanna then spoke of his bond with his family and the land, as he always worked in weeding, planting and caring for it. He also wrote down some of his accounts including the debt he owes and his income.
