The Cup of Shaheed Rami Gharrah Displayed at the "100 Shaheeds - 100 Lives" Exhibition, Feb 2001
This photograph shows a cup that belonging to Shaheed Rami Gharrah from the village of Jitt in the Jalilee. On October 1, 2000, he participated in a protest with fellow residents., after it ended. he and some of his friends standing near the village entrance, where Soldiers of the Israeli occupation army started firing live ammunition, shot him in the head, and he murdered On October 1, 2000. This item was displayed at the "100 Shaheeds - 100 Lives" exhibition held at the Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center in Ramallah On February 20, 2001.which is taken by photographer Isabel de la Cruz, the idea of the exhibition emerged weeks after the eruption of the Second Intifada (Al-Aqsa Intifada) as a tribute to all those murdered in the struggle. However, as the number of Shaheeds was exponentially increasing, the exhibition was limited to honoring the first 100 Shaheeds representing all areas of Historic Palestine.
