This photograph shows the drill that belonging to Shaheed Iyad Lawabneh. On October 2nd, 2000, he heard in the radio a call to defend Nazareth. Ignoring his father's plea to stay at home, he went out to take part in the demonstration. Each time the Occupation Army Forces launched tear gas, Lawabneh would pick one up and throw it back at them. He inhaled a large amount of the tear gas and when snipers were shooting, he was hit in the chest and he murdered. This item was displayed at the "100 Shaheeds - 100 Lives" exhibition held at the Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center in Ramallah on February 20, 2001.which is taken by photographer Isabel de la CruzThe idea of the exhibition emerged weeks after the eruption of the Second Intifada (Al-Aqsa Intifada) as a tribute to all those murdered in the struggle. However, as the number of Shaheeds was exponentially increasing, the exhibition was limited to honoring the first 100 Shaheeds representing all areas of Historic Palestine.
