Shaheed Ayman al-Luh's Copy of the Quran Displayed at the '100 Shaheed - 100 Lives' Exhibition, Feb 2001
Taken by Isabel de la Cruz, this photograph shows a copy of the Holy Quran that belonged to Shaheed (martyr) Ayman al-Luh who was murdered during the clashes which had erupted near an Israeli military tower on October 4th, 2000. This item displayed at the '100 Shaheed - 100 Lives' exhibition held at the Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center in Ramallah on October 20th, 2001. The idea of the exhibition emerged weeks after the eruption of the Second Intifada (Al-Aqsa Intifada) as a tribute to all those murdered in the struggle. However, as the number of Shaheeds was exponentially increasing, the exhibition was limited to honoring the first 100 Shaheeds representing all areas of Historic Palestine.
