"Al-Ghabisiyya and Jerusalem", Stories from the Sea to the River Project, 2022
This video documents an interview conducted by Tarek Al-Bakri and Bayan Al-Aal with Um Marwan Abdel-Aal, from the forcibly depopulated village of al-Ghabisiyya, who lives in Nahr al-Bared Palestinian Refugee Camp in Tripoli. Al-Bakri called Sukkar and Abdel-Aal and took them on a tour of the depopulated village. During the call, Um Marwan shared her memories of the village, especially the Maqam of "Sittna Sidra" (Shrine of Sidra), the village's mosque, cemetery, and their home. She also talked about her mother's work in cattle grazing and milk production. The video was produced by Shagaf for Digital Expression, in collaboration with the "We Were and Still Are... Here" initiative and the Campgi platform in 2022, as part of the "Stories from the Sea to the River" project, funded by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, and supervised by Taawon (Welfare Association).
